Started in 2018. Built differently.

Metro Media started the way most agencies do: one person, a laptop, and a stubborn conviction that there was a better way to do this work. The founder, Sharod Minton, had spent enough time in the industry to know exactly what he didn't want to build. Another bloated agency selling retainers nobody could measure.

So we built the opposite. A small, integrated team. Senior people doing senior work. Clear pricing. Honest reporting. The boring stuff that bigger agencies stopped doing because boring stuff doesn't scale.

Seven years later, we're still small by design. We turn down more work than we accept. Every engagement gets founder oversight. Every campaign gets the same level of obsession we'd give our own brand. The clients that work with us tend to stay, and tend to send their friends.

That's the whole story. No origin myth, no "we set out to disrupt." Just a team that decided to build the agency we'd want to hire.

Every agency has a "values" page. Most of them read like they were written by committee. These are ours. We say no to clients and projects that violate them, not as a rule, but as instinct.

Results over hours.

We don't bill for hours. Hours don't convert customers, hit rankings, or move pipeline. We bill for outcomes, and we structure engagements so our incentives are pointed at exactly what yours are.

Principle 02

Senior people, all the way down.

You'll never have an account manager who knows nothing about your business babysitting your project while the actual experts live three layers deep in Slack. Senior strategists, senior engineers, senior writers, on every account, every time.

Principle 03

Honest over comfortable.

If your strategy is broken, we'll tell you. If your product needs fixing, we'll tell you. If we're not the right partner for your project, we'll tell you that too, and recommend who is. Diplomatic, never sycophantic.

Specific over impressive.

We don't do "thought leadership." We do specific recommendations with specific timelines and specific KPIs. If we can't explain what we're doing in plain English, we shouldn't be doing it.

Transparency as default.

You see what we see. Live dashboards, real-time reporting, full attribution. No "let me get back to you" reports a week after you ask. The data is yours, the access is yours, the reporting cadence works around your schedule, not ours.

Long-term over fast wins.

We turn down work that's set up to fail, promising 3-month transformations that we know take 12, or chasing channels that don't fit the business model. We'd rather build something that compounds for years than something that pops for a quarter.

The person behind the work.

Sharod founded Metro Media in 2018 with a simple thesis: small businesses deserved the same caliber of marketing strategy and execution that Fortune 500 brands take for granted. The pricing should be different. The quality of thinking shouldn't be.

His background is in marketing, with seven plus years of building brands across legal, real estate, and consumer services. Operating out of Atlanta, Sharod leads strategy and SEO for every major client engagement. He still writes strategy briefs himself. He still sits on every kickoff call. He still runs the weekly reviews that keep campaigns honest.

His view on the agency model is straightforward: if your strategy isn't specific enough to act on by Monday morning, it isn't really a strategy. That's how Metro Media operates. Every deliverable is concrete, every recommendation is scoped, and every retainer is justified month over month.

While Sharod runs the agency out of Atlanta, Metro Media's reach is deliberately global. Sarah Ohlmeier anchors our European operations from Germany, bringing tri-lingual fluency, a rigorous European working style, and the ability to seamlessly serve clients across three major markets.

This structure isn't accidental. It lets us run discovery calls in three languages, handle content work across U.S. and European audiences, and provide near-24-hour responsiveness for clients in any time zone. One agency, two continents, three languages, and a genuine ability to localize the work rather than just translate it.

Beyond Sarah, the wider Metro Media team includes a network of senior specialists across development, paid media, creative direction, and content production, brought into engagements based on what each client actually needs.
